The Hypnotherapy Diploma

Hypnotherapy is a popular healing art which is well known, tried and tested. It is therefore a very good qualification and support to anyone who wishes to work as a therapist full time.
It can be the most dramatic form of therapy as very often the results are instantaneous. For instance with phobias it is possible that someone who has not been able to travel due to a lifelong fear of air travel can suddenly fly without qualms. Most of us know a previously heavy smoker who has suddenly quit through hypnosis and in many cases it is possible to have dental work without anaesthetic. Of course this work can go much deeper and is an effective psychotherapeutic approach.

Hypnotherapy can potentially be more lucrative than other therapies and those considering a career in this field will benefit greatly from the marketing skills component of the Healing skills integration module which forms part of the diploma.

We make no secret and are proud to say at Holistic Healing College we emphasise the healing and spiritual aspects of hypnosis. This approach is generally not taught on standard hypnotherapy courses which focus purely on the mechanics and scripts. We teach exercises to enhance participants personal magnetism and also odic gaze (healing through the eyes).

Specialist topics such as working with phobias, sports performance, pain relief, natural childbirth and other areas are addressed in advanced modules 1. Advanced module 2 concentrates on the use of indirect language patterning - how to use hypnotic language, voice tone and therapeutic suggestions in ordinary conversation to help others overcome patterns that can sabotage their desire for positive change. Participants are also trained in NLP and EFT (see below for descriptions) which are closely related.

This is an intensive course which has been condensed over a shorter period of time. Five weekends and three longer courses.

On completion you will be able to set up practise full or part time as a hypnotherapist, treating a variety of issues. You will have also developed advanced communication skills which will enhance all aspects of life and career. Furthermore you will have covered many of the pre requisite modules for our other diplomas and can easily upgrade the remaining modules and earn further qualifications and gain more skills and services to offer.


Certificate Courses

Soul Contract Reader/Practitioner
This is an opportunity to learn an invaluable system of Soul/Life purpose analysis that has only been available since 1980. The purpose is to better understand our present incarnation and help awaken and activate latent potential for others (and ourselves). Therapists and Healers will want to benefit from this wonderful tool that allows us to know our clients at a deep level even before we meet them in person.
During this 4-day course we will gain a greater sense of who we are. You will then possess a tool to help heal and empower others aswell as understand the purpose of many significant relationships and events in life. As a Therapist and Healer you will know before you meet a new client for the first time if they are likely to be experiencing: money issues, low self esteem/self worth issues, possible suicidal tendencies, repressed anger, hypersensitivity, co dependency, manic depression, addictions or the tendency to develop a strong transference. You will also be aware of their possible talents and latent potentials.

If you wish to qualify as a practitioner of Soul Contract reading you will be required to also take the Intro to Counselling module (see below).

Life Coach
An increasing number of clients present with the personal development goal of simply wishing to be more effective in all areas. Although some may initially judge this superficial or symptomatic of our hectic times there is a lot of benefit and clarity that can be gained from increasing our efficiency and gaining more order. What becomes apparent as we 'space clear' our lives, is what are the truly important aspects of life, what activities are truly rewarding to pursue and what really increases enjoyment of life. We will learn methods that can improve both our client's and our own life quality in the key areas of relationship, social life, financial abundance, career, physical health and spiritual life.

One thing that makes our lifecoach course special is that participants will also learn Counselling skills, Advanced communication and Soul Contract reading (see below for details).

Anyone who wishes to coach others, in our opinion needs at the very least a basic understanding of counselling. On top of this the skills acquired in our Advanced communication/Intro to hypnotherapy/NLP course will teach you how to create deep rapport with clients which is essential. All this in conjunction with the knowledge of your client's Soul Contract will allow you to offer so much more than just lifecoaching.

Modules: Weekends and short courses


Advanced Communication: Intro to Hypnotherapy/NLP

This is an introduction to a powerful healing art. It will provide you with tools for improving communication skills, confidence, relaxation, stress levels and putting others at ease socially or professionally. It also acts as a foundation for those taking the hypnotherapy diploma course. At the end of the weekend it is expected that participants will be capable of carrying out a basic hypnotic induction (e.g. for exam nerves, smoking cessation, enhancing creativity, public speaking, confidence building etc.).

This is an opportunity to learn how to use body language and spoken language pattern recognition to create rapport and lead others into a resourceful state. You will also be taught self hypnosis to harness your own unconscious potential.
The weekend will also include an introduction to Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) which teaches us to use our minds most effectively.
Aswell, as for trainee healers/therapists this module is also open to those interested in building confidence both socially and professionally, sports men and women, musicians, writers, artists and other creative people who wish to harness the power of their unconscious.

Advanced Hypnotherapy 1 Specialist subjects
Hypnotherapy has a reputation for being particularly effective in certain areas. In this module we will focus specifically on how to work with phobias, allergies. IBS, smoking/habits, stage fright/performance anxiety, psycho-sexual problems, pain relief and other issues that lead clients to consult the hypnotherapist. We also examine more structured approaches such as Hyno-analysis and ongoing sessions in brief psychotherapy.



Advanced Hypnotherapy 2 Indirect Hypnotic Language and voice tone
The goal of this module is mastering the use of indirect language patterns. Every communication is occurring on many levels. What is said is but a small part of our communication. Other important factors include: how something is said, inflection, emphasis use of certain trigger words, whether communication is directed to the right or left brain hemisphere, verbal marking and patterns within speech that are directed to the unconscious mind. We will simplify and extract the practical aspect of this complicated subject. This will also involve working with voice tones (not usually taught on Hypnotherapy courses)

NLP and EFT practitioner
Neuro linguistic Programming
Through developing an understanding of NLP we can both teach our clients and learn ourselves how to duplicate effective behaviour.
NLP is widely used in business, therapy, sports and education to improve management, performance, inter-personal skills, how children/students learn and every aspect of human behaviour. It involves modelling the effective behaviour and language patterns of individuals who are most effective in a particular area. These observations have been honed into an ever expanding set of techniques which can be emulated by others.
At school we are not usually taught how to feel good, how to enhance positive feelings, how to rearrange/balance emotions or how we can enhance empowering memories - this is the domain of NLP. At its best and when not overanalysed NLP is very pragmatic and cultivates the attitude - 'if something works let's use it.'
Most modern hypnotherapists also learn NLP. Having completed the Hypnotherapy Diploma you will also be able to practise NLP.

Emotional Freedom Technique
EFT is very easy to learn and to teach to clients. It is particularly effective in transforming negative emotions, reducing food cravings (weight management), alleviating pain, dealing with trauma and positive goal setting.
A form of psychological acupressure, based on the same energy meridians used by traditional acupuncturists in the treatment of physical and emotional conditions - but without the needles. Having completed the Hypnotherapy Diploma you will also be able to practise EFT.





Dragon and Tiger Qigong
Dragon and Tiger Qigong is a healing form of Qigong also known as Chi Kung.

This 'medical' form of Qigong is relatively easy to learn, pretty much one of the most effective forms for stress, emotions and healing in the relatively short time it takes to complete the set. Medical Qigong is practised by millions of people in China and is used in that Country to boost the immune system, help alleviate the effects of chemotherapy and many in that Country believe treat early stages of cancer although we are not allowed and do not have the statistical evidence to make such claims in this Country.
Certainly many of our students and clients who have learnt and practised this and other Qigong methods we teach at HHC have attributed their practise to a range of health and emotional benefits often where other therapy and healing has not had effect. 

We believe that it is relatively easy for most people to learn healing skills. It is the maintenance and development of these which is another matter. Dragon and Tiger works by increasing the 'protective Qi' of the body and strengthening the Aura which means it is highly recommended for therapists and health professionals. It is an excellent support for clearing, maintaining and developing your energy and healing abilities. Qigong is also very grounding which is a quality that many who are drawn to helping others are well advised to develop and enhance.

Finally the other reason we are teaching this particular method is that the effects increase with time and efficiency of practise even though it is quite forgiving to the less than perfect movements of beginners. Therefore even if you don't get it 100% at first you will still benefit. Very soon however it will activate the dantian (major energy centre) and allow the practitioner to work at deeper and deeper levels over time.


Diagnostic Skills/Sensitivity training
Whether we are working on the physical, mental or spiritual level a competent therapist will develop diagnostic techniques and sensitivity for tracing the presenting condition at root cause.
Different diagnostic methods will suit different practitioners and clients. In this module we introduce a number of diagnostic methods that may include kinesiology - muscle testing, dowsing and/or iridology.
Participants will also be trained in a Japanese sensitivity enhancing system. This will cover energetic scanning and teaching diagnose of at least five different types of energy that may emanate from the client and can be perceived through the hands.


Reading the Souls Contract

Introduction to Counselling

The course aims to provide an introduction to Counselling and Psychotherapeutic technique. There is an emphasis on developing communication skills, which will be particularly useful when dealing with others in a therapeutic setting. The skills learnt will also have a practical relevance for business and personal relationships. Some of the areas covered may include boundaries, authentic expression, co dependency, conflict resolution, dream analysis, family constellations/Gestalt, transference onto therapist, resistance and cutting cords.


Psychic Development /Practitioner
An opportunity for participants to learn to give a psychic/intuitive reading. This course will help open/develop our intuitive abilities to perceive colours and activity in the energy bodies and provide a corresponding interpretation. You will also learn to offer information on past lifes (or archetypal stories) that may be affecting the present time.

Life Coaching
Many therapists unless they practise non intervention will find themselves in an advisory role. Often coaching (a valid prescriptive intervention) can significantly improve a clients life quality.

Spiritual Healing with Guides/Psychic Surgery techniques
During this course the participants connect with healing guides and learn to experience being spontaneously directed in their healing work. This work is closely related to 'psychic surgery' techniques which will also be introduced.


Sound Healing

Every body part and energy centre is resonating at a certain frequency. If one part is out of balance (out of tune) it can affect the rest of the system rather like an instrument in an orchestra.
Sound Healing is the therapeutic use of sound to heal our minds, bodies and indeed spirits. There are many ways this can be done, not least of which  is through our own voice. You will not be asked to sing or sound individually during this module, though we will explore therapeutic voice and sounds which will help heal our own relationship with our voice, thereby allowing it to be more  healing for others. As many healers, hypnotherapists, counsellors and guided meditation facilitators have discovered the spoken voice too can be a powerful healing instrument.

Relationships
This is one of the major issues clients will present with. From a spiritual perspective relationships can offer a fast track to growth but can also represent a major source of pain. We will examine counselling for those with relationship issues whether for those who are part of a couple or in other kinds of relationships. Related areas that may be explored at a deeper level (than in the introductory weekend) are boundaries, giving and receiving, tantric philosophy and the transference relationship in therapy.

Coping with loss
Life in one way or another is constantly changing. There is a continual process of letting go and change. Some losses are great and require a natural grieving process whilst other aspects of change are inevitable and require acceptance.

As Spiritual Counsellors we will often be required to provide part of the space for our clients to transition through their journey.

Reiki Japanese and Western Method

Reiki as a form of healing and spiritual development was received by Dr Mikao Usui, a Japanese scholar and chant master over 100 years ago. It involves a spiritual opening and initiation that is passed from one person to another allowing direct access to the universal healing force.
Reiki is not only a wonderful healing system, but also an excellent way to develop sensitivity (internal and external).

At Holistic Healing College we teach both the Japanese and Western method: During his lifetime Dr Usui initiated a number of people into this system. One of his key students was Mr Chujiro Hayashi who in turn initiated a Mrs Hawayo Takata. It was Mrs Takata who was responsible for bringing Reiki to the West, where the method of teaching evolved slightly differently.

A Reiki initiation opens our healing channels which allows the practitioner to transmit universal healing energy.
Reiki 1 - teaches the technique for hands on healing.
Reiki 2 - more sophisticated techniques such as healing from a distance, symbols and sounds are introduced.

The third level Reiki Master/teacher enables the graduate to initiate others into Reiki. Further esoteric knowledge and techniques are imparted at this stage. Taking this level requires preparation and experience.

Reiki 3 (Master Level) - only open to those who have been practising healing for sometime and have a genuine interest in spiritual development.

Healing Skills Integration

This four day course equips prospective practitioners to integrate their abilities and present them in a professional setting. In other words it infuses you with the knowledge and confidence to see clients from the initial meeting stage, through treatment phase to termination of session. There are many people who study a discipline (sometimes for as long as 3 or 4 years), gain a lot of theoretical knowledge, but find the idea of applying this knowledge quite daunting. This might be because they are scared to take a risk, are lacking in confidence, study the majority of their course through correspondence and/or simply have not been taught how to work in 'real life situations' and therefore don't know where to start. We focus in this course on creating the 'know how' and accessing the inner confidence to share all your knowledge in a professional setting with your future clients.

Early on in the session we learn to ask specific questions are asked to determine the highest outcome of a client session.
This leads into a structured method that will assess the root cause which limits the clients desire to be whole and symptom free (whether this be a physical, mental or spiritual issue).
On a certain level we possess the knowledge of how to heal ourselves even though this may be unconscious. In this regard as Therapists, Counsellors and Healers we provide the space for a client to change.

In the healing skills integration course you will learn about initial meeting assessment, projecting a sense of calm and safety, diagnostic skills, space clearing, personal protection, more advanced techniques such as past life regression, holding in perfection, unconditional love projection and further intuitive/psychic development. You will also learn how to attract clients, business and marketing skills, setting up a practice and daily energy building and cleansing exercises.
