The Chi Kung Module
Golden Spine 9 (GS9) is a modern movement and chi kung (also known as qigong) system that we teach as part of the 'Chi Kung and Energy Clearing' module our diploma courses.
Developed by HHC founder Blue Marsden who has been practising Chi Kung most of his life, this method includes many ancient and classical movements from Tai Chi and Qigong as well as unique moves and an emphasis on the spine and strengthening spiritual connection and purpose.
It is relatively easy to learn and with its conenction to breath, also functions as a moving mindfulness practise and is one of the most effective forms for stress, emotions and healing given the relatively short time it takes to complete the set (15/20 mins).
Chi Kung is practiced by millions of people in China and is used in that country to boost the immune system and aid maintenance of health as we age, as well as for enhancing and developing latent healing and artistic abilities.
Certainly, many of our students and clients who have learnt and practised this and other methods we teach at HHC, have attributed their practice to a range of health and emotional benefits, often where other therapy and healing has not had an effect.
We believe that it is relatively easy for most people to learn healing skills. However it is the maintenance and development of these which is another matter. GS9 works by increasing the 'protective Qi' of the body and strengthening the aura, which means it is highly recommended for therapists and health professionals. It is an excellent support for clearing, maintaining and developing your energy and healing abilities. GS9 is also a particularly grounding form of Chi Kung, which is a quality that many who are drawn to helping others are well advised to develop and enhance.
Finally, the other reason we are teaching this particular method is that the effects increase with time and efficiency of practise, even though it is quite forgiving to the less refined movements of beginners. Therefore, even if you don't get it 100% at first, you will still benefit. Very soon however it will activate your energy centres and allow the practitioner to work at deeper and deeper levels over time. Most of our students enjoy this as a regular or occasional practise simply to clear their energy or enhance and support their future therapy work. However, there is also the opportunity for those who strongly resonate with this module to take a separate low cost one year teacher training (only open to HHC students) or join are yearly chi kung and digital detox silent retreat. Teaching a health enhancing practice can be a great additional service to offer once you qualify as it will support your clients and help you meet new ones.
